June 16, 2011 -- BYU senior Leif Arrhenius and TCU senior Jessica Young have been selected as the 2011 Mountain West Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Year, respectively.

A product of Orem, Utah, Arrhenius came close to capturing the men's discus and shot put titles, respectively, at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, last week। In the discus throw, Arrhenius finished in second place and was recognized as a first-team All-American after recording a mark of 201'-3.00" (61.36m) in the event.
